My country Bulgaria is less populated then Switzerland so you will see large fields of sunflowers and corn, small remote villages hidden in mountains, rivers and waterfalls, picturesque monasteries. Watch out for bears as there are some 800 around! Bulgaria is home of roses – we grow, distill and export 80% of world rose oil (used in perfumery and cosmetics). Red wine is worth trying (we taste many ones that profit from warm climate and airy sandy soil). Bulgaria is home of famous football players as Hristo Stoichkov and Dimitar Berbatov, inventor of computer John Atanasov, opera singers, scientist. There are nine sites of UNESCO World Heritage and we see at least three of them (Boyana church, Rila monastery and Nesebar town). We swim at refreshing lakes in Rodopi mountains and warm Black Sea (water temperature is about 24° C in July and August).
